Abdirahman Ahmed Omar, Ph.D.

A postgraduate lecturer and researcher with nearly 20 years in the research and academic field. He lectured at different universities in Somalia and Turkey. He has done different research and articles, including Strategic Principles and Perspective for Urban Renewal in Post Conflict Countries: Somalia Case in 2017, and he published a research builder book in 2013. He worked with different public institutions in Somalia, including the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, as he prepared the establishment document for the Geospatial unit in the ministry and also conducted different training in 2022. In addition to this, he was a senior advisor for the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources between 2022-2023. Dr. Abdirahman Omar is interested in urban and regional planning, urban sustainability, urban development, urban planning policy, reconciliation, peacebuilding, and related fields. He was an editor and member of the organizing committee of a yearly international students science conference journal between 2017 and 2020 in Izmir, Turkey. He is highly motivated and has extensive experience in strategic, operational, and change management across urban growth and urban resilience. He worked with governmental and non-governmental institutions as he guided them to their most significant potential, creating the necessary skills to foster growth in dynamic environments and cultivating a solid platform for all stakeholders.
